Ashley Legg, Reporter
Ashley Legg is currently a junior at Suffield High School. Ashley was born in Windsor, CT, living there until she was around 5 or 6 years old. From there, she moved to Suffield where she currently resides. Living in Suffield for a long period of time has allowed her to build up her own community through her hobbies.
Ashley is incredibly passionate about horseback riding, being in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, or the IEA. Ashley has placed in regionals within the last couple of years. She rides many different types of horses, the most prominent ones being named Reggie and Zack, both being thoroughbreds. Other than riding, she also enjoys drawing and spending time with friends in her freetime.
“I’ve been riding at the same place since I was really little,” Ashley recalls, “and staying in the same place my whole life really makes me feel safe.”
Post-high school, Ashley plans on pursuing a degree in education, continuing on to gain a job in the field. She is particularly interested in working with elementary school students. She also plans on prioritizing horseback riding as a secondary area to pursue outside of her career, a goal of hers is to be able to own and afford her own horse in the future. Her consistent focus on what she is interested in is what makes her an important member of the newspaper club. Ashleys determination with extracurricular events will be what leads her to be an exceptional author for the newspaper.
